Generic Flovent is indicated for the treatment of asthma attacks (sudden episodes of shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing). Asthma is a disease in which the airways become blocked causing difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing and coughing. Generic Flovent works by decreasing swelling and irritation in the airways to allow for easier breathing.

Generic for Flovent Contraindications and Drug Interactions

Generic Flovent is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Fluitacasone may interact with other medications. Inform your doctor of pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the counter medicines including vitamins, minerals and herbal products.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Flovent for asthma is 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. (Some doctors may prescribe 1 spray in each nostril every 12 hours.) Once the symptoms are under control, the doctor may reduce the dose to 1 spray in each nostril once daily.

Generic for Flovent Adverse Effects

Some of the most serious Generic Flovent side Effects include abdominal pain, chest pain, coughing, hoarseness, dizziness or lightheadedness, fever or chills, skin rash and itching (hives), sore mouth, with white curd-like patches in the mouth or throat, troubled breathing or wheezing, unusual swelling and unusual tiredness or weakness.
