How Does Netarsudil (0.02% w/v) Work?
Netarsudil is a Rho kinase inhibitor that works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through the trabecular meshwork, the primary drainage pathway of the eye. This mechanism reduces intraocular pressure and protects the optic nerve from damage caused by elevated IOP.
How to Use Netarsudil (0.02% w/v)
- Dosage: Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening or as directed by your healthcare provider.
- Administration:
- Wash your hands before use.
- Tilt your head back slightly and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Hold the dropper close to your eye without touching it and gently squeeze out one drop.
- Close your eyes for 1–2 minutes and press your finger gently on the corner of your eye near the nose to prevent drainage.
- Avoid Contamination: Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye, hands, or any other surface.
- Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
