Tacrolimus 0.1% is prescribed to:

• Reduce redness, itching, and inflammation caused by eczema.

How Does Tacrolimus 0.1% Work

Tacrolimus inhibits calcineurin, a protein that activates the immune system’s response in the skin. By blocking inflammatory cytokine production, it reduces immune system activity, alleviating eczema symptoms without causing skin thinning, as with some steroid-based treatments.

How to Use Tacrolimus 0.1% Ointment

• Apply a thin layer of Tacrolimus 0.1% Ointment to the affected areas of skin twice daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Gently massage the ointment into the skin until absorbed.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after application unless treating your hands.
