This ophthalmic solution is prescribed to:

• Treat and prevent symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, including itchy, red, and watery eyes.
• Relieve irritation caused by exposure to allergens such as pollen, dust, and pet dander.
• Manage chronic allergic conditions affecting the eyes.

How Does Sodium Cromoglycate/Cromolyn 4% Work

Sodium Cromoglycate acts as a mast cell stabilizer, preventing the release of histamine and other inflammatory substances from mast cells in response to allergens. By blocking these allergic responses, it provides relief from symptoms and prevents further irritation.

How to Use Sodium Cromoglycate/Cromolyn 4% Ophthalmic Solution

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.
• Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
• Instill 1–2 drops into each affected eye up to 4 times daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye, to prevent contamination.
• Replace the cap tightly after each use.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Mild stinging or burning sensation immediately after application
• Temporary blurred vision
• Dryness or irritation in the eyes

Rare but serious side effects include:
