Indications

Generic Trusopt is indicated to lower raised pressure in the eye and to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition in which the pressure of fluid in the eye may be high. However, some people with glaucoma may have normal eye pressure. Also, some people with raised eye pressure may not have glaucoma. Generic Dorzolamide lowers pressure in the eye by reducing the production of fluid.

Generic for Trusopt Contraindications and Drug Interactions

Generic Trusopt is contraindicated in patients, with a prior history of hypersensitivity to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drug or any component of this formulation.
Generic Trusopt should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.

- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Eye infection or damage
- Wear contact lenses
- Closed-angle glaucoma
- An unusual or allergic reaction to dorzolamide, acetazolamide, sulfonamides, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives

There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Trusopt. It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking the following.

- CimetidineSilver preparations for the eye, such as silver nitrate
- Ophthalmic dorzolamide should not be used with ophthalmic silver preparations, since a chemical reaction may occur
