Generic Tenormin is a combination of two drugs used to lower blood pressure. Generic Tenormin (Atenolol) is a beta-blocker and chlorthalidone is a diuretic ('water pill'). Atenolol; chlorthalidone is used to control, but not cure, high blood pressure (hypertension).

Generic Tenormin is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or any component of this formulation. The following information just highlights the general average dosage of GenericTenormin The usual recommended dosage of Generic Tenormin for hypertension is 50 milligrams a day in 1 dose, alone or with a diuretic. Full effects should be seen in 1 to 2 weeks. Dosage may be increased to a maximum of 100 milligrams per day in one dose.
