Indications
Chest pain (angina)
Sorbitrate is indicated to prevent or treat chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing the blood vessels to the heart, so the blood and oxygen supply to the heart is increased.
Sorbitrate Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Sorbitrate is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Sorbitrate should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
Glaucoma
Head injury, recent stroke, or bleeding in the brain
Liver disease
Low blood pressure
Previous heart attack
Overactive thyroid
Stomach or intestinal disease

Sorbitrate Dosage

The usual recommended dosage of Sorbitrate for angina pectoris is 2.5 mg to 5 mg. Your doctor will increase this initial dose gradually until the pain subsides or side effects prove bothersome.
The usual sub lingual starting dose for the prevention of an impending attack of angina pectoris is usually 5 or 10 mg every 2 to 3 hours.
Sorbitrate Adverse Effects
Some of the most serious Sorbitrate side Effects include bluish discoloration of lips, fingernails, or palms of hands, dizziness or fainting, dry mouth, irregular heartbeat, palpitations, low blood pressure, skin rash, sweating, the feeling of extreme pressure in the head and unusual tiredness or weakness.
