Indications
Parkinson's disease.
Generic Sinemet is indicated to treat Parkinson's disease. The combination of Levodopa and Carbidopa work together as an effective cure. Levodopa can help correct an imbalance of chemicals in the brain caused by Parkinson's disease. Levodopa will not cure Parkinson's disease, but will help to control the symptoms. Carbidopa helps levodopa work better, and this can decrease some side effects, such as nausea.
Generic for Sinemet Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Sinemet is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Sinemet should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
depression or other mental illness diabetes glaucoma heart disease, including history of a heart attack] irregular heart beat kidney disease liver disease melanoma or suspicious skin lesions seizure disorder stomach or intestinal ulcers

Generic for Sinemet Dosage
The following information just highlights the general average dosage of GenericSinemet The usual recommended dosage of Generic Sinemet for Parkinson's disease is, For clients not receiving levodopa,
Initial: 1 tablet of 10 mg carbidopa/100 mg levodopa t.i.d.-q.i.d. or 25 mg carbidopa/100 mg levodopa t.i.d.; then, increase by 1 tablet q 1-2 days until a total of 8 tablets/day is taken. If additional levodopa is required, substitute 1 tablet of 25 mg carbidopa/250 mg levodopa t.i.d.-q.i.d.
For clients receiving levodopa, Initial: Carbidopa/levodopa dosage should be about 25% of prior levodopa dosage (levodopa dosage is discontinued 8 hr before carbidopa/levodopa is initiated); then, adjust dosage as required. Suggested starting dose is 1 tablet of 25 mg carbidopa/250 mg levodopa t.i.d.-q.i.d. for clients taking more than 1500 mg levodopa or 25 mg carbidopa/100 mg levodopa for clients taking less than 1500 mg levodopa.
Generic for Sinemet Adverse Effects
Some of the most serious Generic Sinemet side Effects include difficulty passing urine, dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting spells, fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations),mental depression and mood changes such as aggressive behavior or hallucinations.
