Clomiphene (Generic Serophene) works by changing the hormone balance of the body, helping your pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain) improve the stimulation of developing follicles (eggs) in the ovaries. This causes ovulation to occur and prepares the body for pregnancy. Generic Serophene is often referred to as the "fertility pill.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Serophene for Ovulatory dysfunction is 50 milligrams (1 tablet) daily for 5 days. If ovulation does not appear to have occurred, your doctor may try up to 2 more times.
