Generic Rebetol is indicated to treat hepatitis C in combination with interferon alfa. Ribavarin (Generic Rebetol) is used in combination with an interferon alfa product to treat chronic hepatitis C in patients with compensated liver disease who have not previously been treated with alfa interferon or who have relapsed following alfa interferon therapy.
Generic for Rebetol Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Rebetol is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Rebetol should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
Anemia breathing problems heart disease such as angina or history of a heart attack high blood pressure human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection kidney disease liver disease (other than hepatitis C) pancreatitis past interferon treatment for hepatitis C that did not work prior organ transplant sickle-cell disease thalassemia
