Indications
Intermittent Claudication.
Generic Pletal is indicated to treat symptoms of intermittent claudication. Intermittent Claudication is pain in the legs that occurs with walking and disappears with rest. The pain occurs due to reduced blood flow to the legs. Generic Pletal widens arteries that supply blood to the legs. Generic Pletal also decreases the ability of platelets (particles in the blood involved in blood clotting) to stick together.
Generic for Pletal Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Pletal is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Pletal should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
Congestive heart failure haemostatic disorders or pathologic bleeding (eg. Peptic ulcer/intra cranial bleeding)
There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Pletal. It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking any of the following.
Erythromycin Ketoconazole, fluconazole or itraconazole diltiazem omeprazole fluvoxamine, fluoxetine or sertraline or nefazodone
Generic for Pletal Dosage
The following information just highlights the general average dosage of GenericPletal The usual recommended dosage of Generic Pletal for intermittent claudication is 100 mg b.i.d., taken at least half an hour before or two hours after breakfast and dinner. A dose of 50 mg b.i.d. should be considered during coadministration of such inhibitors of C.P.A. as ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin and diltiazem, and during coadministration of such inhibitors of CYP2C19 as omeprazole. CYP3A4 is also inhibited by grapefruit juice. Because the magnitude and timing of this interaction have not yet been investigated, patients receiving Pletal should avoid consuming grapefruit juice.

Some of the most serious Generic Pletal side Effects include fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat, fluid (edema) in the legs or ankles, palpitations, chest pain or tightness black, tarry stools, blood in urine or stools, and nosebleed or bleeding from gums.
