Generic Plavix is indicated to prevent strokes and heart attacks in patients at risk for these problems. Clopidogrel (Generic Plavix ) is in a class of medications called antiplatelet drugs. It works by helping to prevent harmful blood clots. Generic Plavix reduces the chance that a harmful blood clot will form by preventing certain cells in the blood from clumping together.

Generic Plavix is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
