Indications
Ulcerative colitis
Generic Pentasa is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis. Mesalamine (Generic Pentasa) works inside the bowel by helping to reduce the irritation and inflammation caused by the ulcerative colitis.
Generic for Pentasa Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Pentasa is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs, an allergy to sulfasalazine, sulfites, aspirin or another salicylate or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Pentasa should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
Kidney problems or
Kidney disease.
