Generic Parlodel is indicated to treat certain menstrual problems or to stop milk production in some women or men who have abnormal milk leakage. Bromocriptine (Generic Parlodel) blocks release of a hormone called prolactin from the pituitary gland.

The initial dosage of Generic Parlodel for menstrual problems is ½ to one 2½ mg tablet daily. An additional 2½ mg tablet may be added to the treatment regimen as tolerated every 3-7 days until an optimal therapeutic response is achieved.

Some of the most serious Generic Parlodel side Effects include changes in blood pressure, confusion or hallucinations, persistent, watery nasal discharge, severe weakness or tiredness, unusual bleeding, blurred vision, difficulty breathing and fainting spells.
