Indications
Vitiligo
Generic Oxsoralen is used along with ultraviolet light (found in sunlight and some special lamps) in a treatment called psoralen plus ultraviolet light A (PUVA) to treat vitiligo, a disease in which skin color is lost.

Generic Oxsoralen is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Oxsoralen . It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking any of the following.
Griseofulvin
Sulfa or tetracycline antibiotics
Medicines for mental problems or psychotic disturbances

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Oxsoralen for psoriasis is 0.4 mg per kg (0.18 mg per pound) of body weight taken one and one-half to two hours before UVA exposure. This treatment (methoxsalen and UVA) is given two or three times a week, with the treatment spaced at least forty-eight hours apart.
