Generic Nizoral is indicated to treat infections caused by a fungus or yeast. Ketoconazole (Generic Nizoral ) helps in the treatment of fungal infections of the skin such as ringworm of the body (tinea corporis), ringworm of the groin (tinea cruris or jock itch), sun fungus (tinea versicolor, pityriasis versicolor) and dandruff. It works by killing the fungus or yeast or preventing its growth.

Generic Nizoral is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
