Indications
Generic Niaspan is indicated with diet changes (restriction of cholesterol and fat intake) to reduce the amount of cholesterol and certain fatty substances in your blood.Generic Niacin is also used to prevent and treat pellagra (niacin deficiency), a disease caused by inadequate diet and other medical problems. Generic Niaspan is a B-complex vitamin.

The initial dosage of Niaspan ranges from 50 to 100 milligrams once a day. The doctor may gradually increase the dosage up to 400 milligrams a day. .
