Generic Monoket is indicated to prevent angina (chest pain). It relaxes blood vessels, increasing the blood and oxygen supply to your heart. Isosorbide mononitrate is a type of vasodilator. This takes some of the stress of the heart and helps nutrients (oxygen and others) get to the heart.

Generic Monoket is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Monoket for angina pectoris is 30 milligrams (taken as a single 30-milligram tablet or as one-half of a 60-milligram tablet) or 60 milligrams once a day. After several days, the doctor may increase the dose to 120 milligrams (a single 120-milligram tablet or two 60-milligram tablets) once daily.

Some of the most serious Generic Monoket side Effects include bluish discoloration of lips, fingernails, or palms of hands, dizziness or fainting, dry mouth, irregular heartbeat, palpitations, low blood pressure, skin rash, sweating, the feeling of extreme pressure in the head and unusual tiredness or weakness.
