Generic Mudoretic is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Hypertension is a common disorder in which the blood pressure remains abnormally high. Mudoretic is also prescribed to treat edema, swelling caused by an abnormal accumulation of fluid in body tissues.
Generic for Moduretic Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Mudoretic is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Mudoretic should not be taken by patients who have history of the following ailment conditions
Hyperkalemia
Anuria
Renal function impairment
Diabetes mellitus
Hepatic function impairment
There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Mudoretic. It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking any of the following
Lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith and others)
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen
Diabetes medication such as Glipizide

The usual starting dosage is 1 tablet a day. The dosage may be increased to 2 tablets a day, if necessary. More than 2 tablets of Generic Mudoretic daily usually are not needed and there is no controlled experience with such doses.

Some of the most serious Generic Mudoretic side Effects fast or irregular heartbeat, palpitations, chest pain, nervousness, numbness or tingling in hands, feet, or lips, pain or difficulty passing urine, unusual tiredness or weakness, weakness or heaviness of legs and yellowing of the eyes or skin.

The safety and effectiveness of Generic Mudoretic in pediatric patients have not been established.
Generic for Moduretic and Geriatric
Generic Mudoretic is known to substantially excreted by the kidney and the risk of toxic reactions to this drug may be greater in patients with impaired renal function. Because elderly patients are more likely to have decreased renal function, care should be taken in dose selection, and it may be useful to monitor renal function.
