Metoclopramide increases the rate at which the stomach empties into the intestines and increases the strength of the lower esophageal sphincter.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Metoclopramide for Gastro esophageal Reflux is 10 milligrams to 15 milligrams of Metoclopramide, up to 4 times a day, 30 minutes before each meal and at bedtime, depending upon the symptoms being treated and the effectiveness of the dose. Treatment usually lasts no longer than 12 weeks.
