Generic Levora is effective as oral contraceptives (birth control pills or "the pill"). Similar to the natural sex hormones (estrogen and progesterone) produced in a woman's body, Levonorgestrel ethinyl estradiol (Generic Levora) is a combination of estrogen and progestin. These products can prevent ovulation and pregnancy.

Generic Levora is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Levora should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.

cancer of the breast, cervix, ovary, uterus, vagina, or unusual vaginal bleeding that has not been evaluated by a health care professional

For a 21 day schedule the usual recommended dosage of Generic Levora is an oral contraceptive taken every day for a 3-week period, followed by 1 week of no oral contraceptives and this cycle is repeated each month. The dosage should be started on the first Sunday after the beginning of the menstrual period, one tablet taken daily (at the same time each day) for the next 21 days. One should wait 1 week before taking any more tablets and the menstrual period should occur during this time.

Some of the most serious Generic Levora side Effects include chest pain, coughing up blood, dizziness or fainting spells, leg, arm or groin pain, severe or sudden headaches, stomach pain (severe), sudden shortness of breath and sudden loss of coordination.
