Generic Name - Hydralazine Category - Hypertension Indications High Blood Pressure. Hydralazine Contraindications and Drug Interactions Hydralazine is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past. Hydralazine Dosage The usual recommended dosage of Hydralazine for Blood Pressure is not to take more than 0.25 milligram of reserpine daily (the amount in 2-1/2 tablets). Hydralazine Adverse Effects Some of the most serious Hydralazine side Effects include chest pain, or fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations),fever, chills, or sore throat, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, shortness of breath, skin rash, redness, blisters or itching, stiff or swollen joints, sudden weight gain, swelling of the feet or legs, swollen lymph glands, unusual weakness. Hydralazine and Pregnancy Studies do not indicate whether Hydralazine is likely to be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not use Hydralazine without talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment. Hydralazine and Breastfeeding It is not known whether Hydralazine will be harmful to a nursing baby. Hence do not use Hydralazine without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
