Indications
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Generic Combivent is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is comprised of two related diseases : chronic bronchitis and emphysema. In both the diseases the flow of air through the airways and out of the lungs is obstructed. Albuterol (Generic Combivent) works by acting on beta 2 receptors in the lungs. Stimulation of these receptors causes the muscles in the airways to relax, allowing the airways to open.
Generic for Combivent Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Combivent is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Geneic Combivent is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to soya lecithin or related food products such as soybean and peanut.

Generic for Combivent Dosage
The following information just highlights the general average dosage of GenericCombivent The usual recommended dosage of Generic Combivent for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is two inhalations four times a day. Patients may take additional inhalations as required; however, the total number of inhalations should not exceed 12 in 24 hours.
Generic for Combivent Adverse Effects
Some of the most serious Generic Combivent side Effects include difficulty breathing, wheezing, dizziness, chest pain, fast heartbeat (pounding), or irregular heartbeat, headache (severe), muscle cramps, numbness in fingers or toes, skin rash or hives and swelling of the lips, tongue or face.

Generic for Combivent and Pregnancy

It is not known whether Genric Combivent passes into human milk. Breastfeeding mothers should consult doctor before taking this medication.

The safety and effectiveness of Generic Combivent in pediatric patients have not been established.
Generic for Combivent and Geriatric
No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between younger patients and patients above 65 years. However, greater sensivity exhibited by some older individuals cannot be ruled out.
