Indications

Generic Floxin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, chlamydia, gonorrhea, skin infections,urinary tract infections and infections of the prostate. Ofloxacin (Generic Floxin) works by entering the bacterial cell inhibiting a chemical called DNA-gyrase which is involved in the production of genetic material (DNA). This therefore prevents the bacteria from reproducing and their growth is stopped.
Generic for Floxin Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Floxin is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Floxin should not be taken by patients who have history of following ailment conditions
Dendritic Keratitis
Fungal infections of the eye
There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Folic Acid. It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking any of the following
Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum
Sucralfate
Vitamin or mineral supplement containing iron or zinc
Theophylline
Probenecid
Warfarin
Cimetidine
Cyclosporine
Insulin
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Floxin for respiratory tract infections is 400 milligrams every 12 hours for 10 days, for a total daily dose of 800 milligrams.
