Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Generic Flomax is indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate in men. Tamsulosin (Generic Flomax) works by blocking a specialized set of receptors called alpha-1 adrenergic receptors that control the flow of urine at the opening of the bladder. This improves the urine flow and reduces BPH symptoms.
Generic for Flomax Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Flomax is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Flomax for enlarged prostate is 1 capsule (0.4 milligram) daily, half an hour following the same meal each day. The doctor may increase the dose to 2 capsules (0.8 milligram) once a day if needed.
