Bacterial infections are caused by bacteria, fungi or parasites. They are normally harmless or even helpful, but under certain conditions they may cause diseases. Some bacterial infections can be passed from person to person.
General signs and symptoms common to bacterial infections are fever, loss of appetite, fatigue and muscle aches.
If bacterial infection are ignored or not treated, it leads to illnesses such as strep throat, urinary tract infection and tuberculosis.
Antibiotics are primarily reserved for bacterial infections which kill microorganisms and cure bacterial infections. But sometimes in depth diagnosis is needed as we don’t know which type of germ is at work.
