Dapoxetine Uses: Dapoxetine is used in the treatment of premature ejaculation in men aged 18–64 years. Premature ejaculation is a common sexual dysfunction in which ejaculation occurs before or soon after vaginal penetration.

Dapoxetine Drug Class and Mechanism: Dapoxetine belongs to a class of medications known as SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors).

Dapoxetine Dosing:  The dosage of Dapoxetine prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Dapoxetine may be taken with or without food. This medicine should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It should be taken approximately one to three hours prior to sexual activity. Take Dapoxetine once in every 24 hours.

• Missed Dose: Dapoxetine is taken on an as-needed basis. So you are not likely to miss a dose. Do not take extra medicine.

• Overdose: Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of Dapoxetine, seek medical attention immediately. Overdose symptoms may include dizziness, severe nausea, prolonged erection, and fainting.

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Insomnia
• Diarrhea

Dapoxetine Drug Interactions

When Dapoxetine is taken with certain drugs, its effects could be altered. So, before taking Dapoxetine, it is important to tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Ketoconazole
• Ritonavir
• Telithromycin
• Thioridazine

Dapoxetine Contraindications

Dapoxetine is contraindicated in men with conditions such as hepatic impairment, heart failure, and ischemic heart disease.
