Covera-HS is also used for the treatment of arrhythmias (irregular heart beats). Hypertension is a common disorder where the blood pressure remains abnormally high. Arrhythmias are abnormal heart rhythms that causes the heart to pump less effectively. Verapamil (Generic Covera-HS) relaxes blood vessels and reduces the pressure on heart. It also increases the supply of oxygen to the heart to control chest pain.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Covera-HS for Angina is 80 mg to 120 mg three times a day. However, 40 mg three times a day may be warranted in patients who may have an increased response to Verapamil (eg, decreased hepatic function, elderly, etc).
