Generic Cordarone is indicated for the treatment of arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are abnormal heart rhythms that causes heart to pump less effectively. Amiodarone (Generic Cordarone) works by relaxing an overactive heart.
Generic for Cordarone Contraindications and Drug Interactions
Generic Cordarone is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Cordarone should not be taken by patients who have history of following ailment conditions
Cardiogenic shock
Marked sinus bradycardia
Second- or third-degree AV block unless a functioning pacemaker is available

The usual recommended loading dosage of Generic Cordarone for arrhythmias is 800 to 1,600 mg/day for 1 to 3 weeks (occasionally longer) until initial therapeutic response occurs. Administration of Generic Cordarone in divided doses with meals is suggested for total daily doses of 1,000 mg or higher, or when gastrointestinal intolerance occurs.

Some of the most serious Generic Cordarone side Effects include appetite increase or decrease, blue-gray coloring of the skin, blurred vision, seeing blue-green halos, increased sensitivity of the eyes to light, cough, or difficulty breathing, difficulty walking, dry or puffy skin or eyes, intolerance to heat or cold and nervousness.
