Generic Claritin is indicated for the treatment of allergies, hives (urticaria) and other allergic inflammatory conditions. It relieves the sneezing, runnynose, stuffiness, itching and tearing eyes caused by hay fever. Loratadine works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

Generic Claritin is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
