Generic Carbatrol is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or tricyclic compounds, such as amitriptyline, desipramine, imipramine, protriptyline, nortriptylin or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Carbatrol for seizures is initially 200 mg b.i.d. of Generic Carbatrol on day 1 (100 mg q.i.d. of suspension) which is increased by 200 mg/day or less at weekly intervals until best response is attained.
