Generic Avelox is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infection including pneumonia, sinusitis and worsening of chronic bronchitis. Avelox contains an antibiotic called moxifloxacin, which works by killing the bacteria that cause infection.

Generic Avelox is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, or to any member of the quinolone class of antimicrobial agents.
Generic Avelox is contraindicated in patients who have a history the following ailment conditions
Heart irregularities such as Long QT syndrome
Untreated low blood potassium
Irregular hear beat

The dose of Generic Avelox is 400 mg (orally or as an intravenous infusion) once every 24 hours. The duration of therapy depends on the type of infection.
