Generic Avandamet is indicated as an adjunt to diet and used as an oral medication to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 (non-insulin-dependant) diabetes. Rosiglitazone-Metformin (Generic Avandamet) contains two drugs commonly used to lower blood sugar. This drug replaces the need to take two drugs separately, lowers blood sugar and helps your body to use insulin more efficiently.

Generic Avandametis contraindicated in patients with renal disease, congestive heart failure, chronic or acute metabolic acidosis, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.

The usual recommended dosage of Generic Avandamet for Diabetes mellitus is 4 mg Generic Avandamet (total daily dose) plus the dose of Metformin already being taken for patients inadequately controlled on Metformin monotherapy.
Generic for Avandamet Adverse Effects
Some of the most serious Generic Avandamet side Effects include anxiety or nervousness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision, breathing difficulties or shortness of breath, cold sweats, increased sweating, severe vomiting or prolonged diarrhea, skin rash and hives.

Generic for Avandamet and Pregnancy
