Generic Name: Amoxicillin
Amoxicillin is used in the treatment of many different types of infections
caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, Escherichia coli and salmonella infection. Amoxicillin is also used together with
an antibiotic clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection.
Ingredients in Amoxicillin:
- Take amoxicillin exactly as prescribed by the doctor
- Do not take in larger
or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended
- Take amoxicillin with or without food
Amoxicillin Side effects:
side effects are white patches or sores on your lips or inside your mouth, fever, swollen glands, rash or itching, joint pain, severe blistering, red skin rash and
peeling, yellowing of the eyes, dark colored urine, fever, confusion or weakness, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness or easy bruising.
Amoxicillin Contraindications & Drug interactions:
Using Amoxicillin with any of the following medications is usually not recommended: Benemid,
Coumadin, Zithromax, Biaxin, erythromycin or Ketek, sulfa drugs (Bactrim, Gantanol, Gantrisin, Septra, SMX-TMP)
