Generic Actigall is indicated to dissolve gallstone in patients who do not want surgery or in those in whom surgery should to be avoided due to other medical problems. Urosodiol (Generic Actigall) is also used to prevent the formation of gallstone in overweight patients who are losing weight very quickly. Urosodiol is a bile acid, naturally produced by the body that is stored in the gallbladder. It works by decreasing the production of cholesterol and by dissolving the cholesterol in bile so that it cannot form stones.

Generic Actigall is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Actigall should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.
Acute Cholecystitis
Cholangitis
Bilary obstruction
Gallstone pancreatitis
Bilary-gastrointestinal fistula
Chronic liver disease
Variceal bleeding
There are a number of medications that interact with Generic Actigall . It is important to take the doctor's counsel if you are taking any of the following.
Antacids
Cholestyramine
Clofibrate
Fenofibrate or gemfibrozil
Ciprofloxacin
Colesevelam
Colestipol
Dextrothyroxine

Generic for Actigall Dosage
The usual recommended dosage of Generic Actigall for Gallstone disease is 8 to 10 milligrams per 2.2 pounds of body weight, divided into 2 or 3 doses.

Some of the most serious Generic Actigall side Effects include any signs of an allergic reaction (rare), difficulty breathing, hives, skin rash or unusual itching,severe stomach area pain, especially toward your right side.
