Generic Aceon is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure. Hypertension is a common disorder in which the blood pressure remains abnormally high. Aceon works by reducing the angiotensin I chemical in the blood. Perindopril (Generic Aceon) also improves the flow of blood through the circulatory system.

Generic Aceon is contraindicated in patients, who are hypersensitive to this drug, medications that belong to this class of drugs or had an allergic reaction to it in the past.
Generic Aceon should not be taken by patients who have a history of the following ailment conditions.

Renal impairment

The usual starting dosage of Generic Aceon is 4 milligrams daily, taken as a single dose or divided into two smaller doses. The doctor may increase the dosage until the blood pressure is under control, up to a maximum of 16 milligrams per day. A dose of 4 to 8 milligrams of Generic Aceon a day is usually sufficient.

Some of the most serious Generic Aceon side Effects include Angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, arms, or legs, and difficulty swallowing), arm pain, fever, heart palpitations, indigestion, muscle tension and viral infection.
